» CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character NAME: Cairistiona Vyeth-Sunstriker.
Character PULL-POINT: After Deathwing's fall, around when the Alliance make landfall on Pandaria.
Character AGE: 39.

Character ABILITIES: Cairistiona is a master at using holy energy and light to win her battles and has the knowledge necessary to fight against the undead, demons, and other sort of enemies. She has the stamina necessary to keep fighting nigh-incessantly against them. Beyond this, Cairistiona can also heal other people's wounds in battle and even revive her fallen comrades, when she's not needed to take the brunt of the damage in a fight.

Cairistona has training in all three Paladin fields, but specializes primarily in front-line defense, keeping foes' attention on her with sword and shield while allies keep her alive and strike foes down. Paladins have three 'specializations' - Protection Paladins focus on keeping enemies' attention on them, Holy Paladins specialize in healing, and Retribution Paladins specialize in bringing down the divine wrath of the Holy Light with heavy weaponry.

As a human, Cairistiona has a couple of special abilities. One is that every so often in battle, she can remove all movement-impairing effects and all effects that make her lose control of herself. Another thing is that she's charismatic to a point, thanks to being able to talk things out to hopefully obtain a good result for everyone involved. Finally, something else she has is an increased spirit, which is good for her mana regeneration out of combat.

Even though Cairistiona is a seasoned veteran of war, she still finds new things to learn about her class and will still be learning until everything's exhausted.

Character HISTORY: Cairistiona was brought up to live in the Vyeth family at the end of the Second War. When she was around ten years old, she was trained in the ways of a paladin and eventually became part of the King's Army. She went on many missions around the Eastern Kingdoms and she was able to eventually rise to the rank of Knight-Commander of Stormwind at the age of twenty-six through her deeds and talents to the kingdom. Here is where her life got interesting.

When the Third War began, Cairistiona was deployed to go to Southshore to patrol the area for any enemies around and it's here that she made her temporary home. She went through a few fights on the way to Stormwind and other towns around and eventually met up with a high elf named Aegidis Sunstriker who got lost on his way to Stormwind. As she trained him to be a warrior, Cairistiona felt herself crushing on the high elf and eventually they got together as boyfriend and girlfriend.

She was soon asked to join Sir Uther Lightbringer, leader of the paladin order known as the Silver Hand, in Hearthglen to save the town from the Scourge, a massive undead plague. With his forces, she moved on to Stratholme, where Uther's forces were commanded by Prince Arthas Menethil to destroy the town and its citizens. She vehemently denied the order, sharing Uther's feelings towards this and began to wonder if continuing to serve as a knight was in her best interests now that she had someone who cared about her. She left with Uther and returned to Stormwind for some time to relax. It's here that she asked her family, who were still in Lordaeron to go to Stormwind for safety. They complied and relocated.

Months later, upon her traveling to Southshore, her troops were met by a swift attack by the Scourge; she and her men fought their hardest against them, but ended up losing when they were outmatched. Cairistiona suffered grevious wounds and was on the verge of dying, but was saved by Aegidis and his brother, Gladius. She took some time to recover in Andorhal before traveling to Quel'thalas, as it was decided that the areas around weren't safe anymore.

She loved being in Quel'thalas and was considered an ambassador of the Alliance in her time there, even if she was treated harshly by the high elves in the area. She tried her best to muster on through things during her time in the capital. Even if, when the Sunwell was destroyed, Cairistiona was ordered to protect those who couldn't protect themselves and she noticed the withdrawal symptoms happen to Aegidis himself. At the time, he was reeling from losing his brother during the raid. Here is where she used her holy magic that she had to sustain his magic addiction, even when she wasn't feeling the best herself.

She returned to Stormwind with Aegidis for some time to let the other knights and those still loyal to the Knights of the Silver Hand, then reformed to the Argent Dawn, that she was alive as she was assumed to be missing in action with the worst option being dead and/or turned into a Scourge. She was welcomed home warmly and as a hero, but what she cared more about was her family's well-being. Her father was permanently injured and had to have help getting around and her brother was nowhere to be seen.

Her life from here got more mundane than she was used to as she married Aegis and they had a couple of kids, Annelisa and Meldarion. There were a few times that she would be asked to assist the Alliance with war, but she decided to stay and raise her kids the right way while also helping her family out however she could. This was how Cairistiona liked living and she got used to it, but knew that she would need to go back to the battlefield eventually.

And that would come to fruition when Arthas attacked Stormwind. She protected her family and the citizens of Stormwind against the Scourge, saving those that she could and fought diligently as long as they were in the area. Thankfully, with the combined effort of the Ironforge Airforce and the Mage Quarter, the Stormwind Army defeated the Scourge. Since this was both personal and part of her duty, Cairistiona volunteered to fight the Scourge and the Lich King in Northrend with her father and mother willing to raise her kids for her themselves.

In Northrend, she lived with the Argent Crusade and worked with the Argent Vanguard while battling off the Scourge and their vrykul allies. For a time, the Alliance and Horde worked together against the Lich King and this was how she liked things instead of pointlessly fighting. When it came time for the Alliance to go to the Wrathgate, Cairistiona wasn't selected to go to the battlefield as her commanders thought her efforts would be better used for more strategic fighting. Personally, she never witnessed the betrayal of Horde and Alliance forces alike by a faction of the Undercity which reignited the war between the Alliance and the Horde.

As tensions grew between the Alliance and the Horde, Cairistiona knew that she would have to do something before even more blood was spilled from this war and she supported the idea of the Argent Tournament when it came about. She helped train adventurers in combat as well as impart the wisdom she learned on to them so that they could survive the harsh terrain of Northrend, too. Upon the formation of the Ashen Verdict, however, Cairistiona met up with her brother once again, but found out that he had become a death knight, someone who was raised after falling in battle. Relieved, but conflicted on the matter, she took the sweet moments she had to talk to him and also introduced him to her husband.

Finally, when Arthas fell in Icecrown Citadel, Cairistiona felt a huge weight being removed from her shoulders. Upon her return to Stormwind, she returned home with her brother, who wanted to go home to see his family again. Unfortunately, she knew that he couldn't return to who he was ever again. During this lull of relative peace, she took some time to herself to work on her family again and soon, she had another set of twins, Carine and Cris.

When the Shattering happened, Cairistiona didn't want her kids to get wrapped up in Deathwing's shenanigans and she elected to stay home to work on her family. She was considered temporarily retired from the army during this time, even if people needed her services. Her family always came first before her duties and they always needed some form of protection in Stormwind. She learned of Garrosh's attack on Theramore and was displeased at the Warchief's attack, but knew she wouldn't be able to do much against him. During this time, Cairistiona found two brothers on their way to Stormwind named Emerion and Syllas and decided to take them in to her home, adding more to her already growing family.

After the Cataclysm and Stormwind was in the process of rebuilding after Deathwing's assault on the city, Cairistiona and Aegis had one more boy, Faron. The Sunstriker-Vyeth family raised all their kids with the free time they had on their hands and did what they could to help in the rebuilding process. Although, when news came about the Alliance making landfall on a new continent - Pandaria - Cairistiona was curious about this new continent and the pandaren who inhabited the lands. Of course, more adventures await her during this time!

Character PERSONALITY:

Cairistiona is a woman who could very well be defined by the experiences she went through as a veteran of war. Even if she looks like she's perpetually happy and has things together, she definitely has a few skeletons in her closet and a few scars from war itself.

First and foremost, she's a woman of war. As she was born at the end of the Second War, she knew her parents were trying their best to wind down after what went on to focus on their family. She was a happy kid growing up with a thirst to be just like her mom and dad and this was what helped her become a paladin because she looked up to the ones in the Cathedral of Light, wanting to be just like them one day. Thus, she went in to her training strong and eventually became proficient in the Light and a good soldier for Stormwind.

As a soldier, Cairistiona proved to be competent in the ways of the Light as well as following commands. Although, what earned her some teasing from her fellow soldiers was her silliness and her own teasing, but this was, in her opinion, to raise morale so that people wouldn't be so despondent to what was going on around them. This sort of behavior quieted down the more she was in the military, but her sunny disposition never seemed to go away. Beyond that, she always made sure to go out of her way to help out people who needed it. She believed, and still does, that as long as there's supplies to be used, people can still be helped.

What utterly changed Cairistiona was the Third War. So many people died, people she knew and those she worked with and this got to her in a few ways. She wasn't peppy, was afraid and felt that getting ambushed by the Scourge was undoubtedly her fault for deciding to take her men back to Southshore. Even if she tried to put on a brave face, it'd falter and she would have lost her hope were it not for her boyfriend at the time to keep her strong and show her that things weren't her fault.

It's no question that Aegis is her most important person. Without him, she would have fell into a deep depression and not have the will to fight for what was right anymore. That, and she would have turned into a Scourge if he didn't decide to bravely go back for his girlfriend. It's true that she was ready to accept her fate and die, but Aegis didn't give up on her and she tried to not give up on herself, either. In a way, this still affects her as it shaped her into the person she is today.

Today, Cairistiona is more serious about her job as a soldier and thinks more about the consequences before going into a battlefield blind. It's not because she knows she has a family waiting for her, either. She doesn't want to add on to the already staggering numbers of soldiers lost in the Alliance-Horde war on top of the fact that she cherishes her life. Since she survived the Scourge attack, she knows that she could have been left there to die. Thus, she's cautious and perhaps overly so. The thought of being lost to something like the Scourge utterly terrifies her and she still has nightmares to this day about what went on. Sure, it's been years since the Third War, but since she was in it, but it still feels like it just happened yesterday and that fear has a strong grip on her mind.

To go on her weaknesses, she's normally fine with dealing with stuff under pressure, but if she's stressed, sick or sore, she'll become essentially a hypocrite to what she normally does. This entails making errors in judgment or raise her voice against her men if they're overloading her with their issues or believing that she's fine to continue on. Stubbornness is another weakness that she has and she has been called out because of it by her higher-ups and peers. Her stubbornness can crop up when she's fighting something or even when she's clearly set on something and can't be convinced of another way of thinking. Another way that her stubbornness can come into view is when her loved ones are endangered. On top of being bullheaded, she can also act irrationally and tend to do whatever it takes to get them out of safety. In her opinion, as long as her loved ones are safe, she doesn't care what could happen to her as she just wants them safe.

Something else that she tends to struggle with is her appearance of all things. She knows getting covered in mud and blood is inevitable for a soldier, but when she lived in Quel'Thalas temporarily, she noticed how much importance the elves put on one's appearance and she felt rather plain for a human. She also began to wonder how in the hell she was able to make an elf like Aegis fall in love with her if all she looked like was a plain jane. As time went on, this thinking lessened significantly, but it's still a worry for her. This is why she tends to make herself look good in her armor and also when she's off duty.

Even with this, Cairistiona still strives to uphold the Light as well as try to prevent another Cataclysm from happening in her own way. She knows that in order to stop what's going on in Azeroth is cooperation between the Alliance and the Horde and she's willing to help with that goal, even if she doesn't really know how to go about it.

First PERSON:

[ Well, the woman in the camer'as not used to this technology, but it seemed simple enough, right? Just push a button to record and let the tablet do the rest of the work. Simple. She knows that it's probably not made from gnomish engineering, but who knows? ]

...I'm not entirely sure if I'm using this right, but I never back down from a challenge!

[ Cairistiona gives the camera a smile. It seems slightly strained, but practiced nonetheless. She's worried over not seeing her family here or anyone else that she knows quite yet. Although, if they brought her here, her family had to be here somewhere, right? ]

Now, um... I know we're expected to train, so if anyone would like a trainer in either melee or Light-based attacks, I can offer my aid. I haven't seen what sort of training items they offer us to use quite yet, though. It can't be any different than what's available to people who are just starting out back home, right?

Oh, right, where are my manners? I'm Cairistiona Vyeth-Sunstriker, Knight Commander of Stormwind. It's an honor to meet everyone here and I hope we can work together so that we can win this war we were conscripted into and hopefully go home soon...

Third PERSON:

Training was done for the day for the Transports and Cairistiona decided to take some time to herself to sort stuff out. No matter how much she patrolled the halls during downtime, she hadn't been able to find hide nor hair of her husband or her family around the building and while she found a few familiar faces from home, it didn't help lessen her worries any for what she left behind.

A hand moved from her mace to her stomach, rubbing her belly a little. She just gave birth not too long ago and already missed Faron, Syllas, Emerion, Cris, Carine, Annelisa and Meldarion, not to mention Aegis himself and her parents. She wondered if they were okay with her gone here, and while she certainly knew Aegis could take care of himself, the thought of not knowing what was going on in Azeroth terrified her. Sure, Deathwing was defeated, but what else would happen to the world they lived on?

"I miss you," she muttered before she continued walking down the hallway. She just had to remain strong, right? Well, all she would have to do is try her hardest with that! Positive thinking tended to outweigh the negatives anyway and she was sure her family was okay somewhere. She just had to believe in them like they believed in her, that was it.

For now, she had to concentrate on the mission they were given, even if she didn't know enough information to make an educated plan of attack. Sure, the briefing she was told upon her arrival was enough for that time. However, the more time she spent here, the more her scepticism grew and so did her overall wariness of the place in general.

"Light, bless this paladin as she continues to live in this world. Watch over my family and protect them to the best of your ability. And... Watch over the Transports as we do our best with surviving here, please. In your name, I pray."
